Reducing a PDF with image rewriting

Compress PDF online to reduce attachment size. The service attempts image rewriting at JPEG quality 55 and a target of 72 dpi, then tries fallback image and structural compression candidates where needed.

  1. Step 1

    Use the workspace

Upload one PDF, choose Compress PDF, then inspect scanned text and charts before sharing the smaller file.

Output behavior and limits

Scanned small text can become less readable. Text-only PDFs may have little to reduce; the service can report that it could not achieve a smaller acceptable output.

Check scanned text, charts, and barcodes before sending. Keep an original for printing and signed-document workflows.

Before replacing your original

  • This operation uploads to the processing server. Clear results after downloading; deletion requests can fail and scheduled cleanup depends on the server running.
